This musical is based on the environmental children's book
A SONG AND STORY OF MAGIC MOUNTAIN which is about a talking mountain who goes to sleep because people stop coming to hear his stories. This story is timeless, inspiring all ages with a message that celebrates the sacredness of the Earth, the humor and challenges of camping and the mystery and curiosity of exploring nature. 
 
The script is written for 10 – 15 characters and includes separate lyric sheets and easy piano scores for nine songs to be woven throughout the narrated story. The  book's theme is amplifed by students collaborating through creative writing and adding short skits and personalizing the storyline. From the Native American style Power Chant and Sacred Ground to the reflective lyrics of Postcard and Into the Mountains, the inspiring Ouzel Song, humorous Winnebago Song, rocking rhythm of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, this musical flows with a wide variety of musical styles appealing to all ages.
 
Composer of this original musical, Lisa Dancing-Light, has penned music for many theater productions at the infamous Wheeler Opera House in Aspen. Dancing-Light is an internationally known songwriter-composer with five recordings to her credit.
